Vision Statement

We envision CBCHC to be a full service 21st century church that excels in producing generations of disciples and Christian workers from a diversity of cultural and language profiles through the threefold objective of exaltation of Jesus Christ, edification of believers, and evangelization of the world.

VISION ITEMS

The CBCHC will be a church where:

1.   Worship is a profound and life-transforming encounter with the living God in an awe-inspiring and joy-filled setting.

2.   Members, from different languages, Chinese dialects, generations, and cultural backgrounds, come to worship God and have fellowship in our church family - loving, learning, growing, laughing, serving, and living in harmony together.

3.   The hurting, the depressed, the frustrated, the confused, the sick, the needy, the tired, the young, and the aged can find love, acceptance, help, hope, forgiveness, guidance, rest, renewal, and encouragement.

4.   The Gospel of Jesus Christ is preached to tens of thousands of Chinese and other residents in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia areas.

5.   Every member reads, loves, and obeys the Word of God, and all the leaders and co-workers love the Lord devotedly, serve Him faithfully, and care for others unselfishly.

6.   Every member is discipled into spiritual maturity and becomes disciple-makers of Jesus Christ through Bible studies, prayer groups, cell groups, fellowship, seminars, and retreats.

7.   Every member is equipped for a significant ministry by helping them discover the gifts and talents God gave them and is empowered for a personal life mission in the world.

8.   Full-time missionaries and Christian workers are continually sent out all around the world.

9.       Hundreds of members are sent out on short-term mission projects locally and all around the world.

10.   Sister churches are planted and mission churches are adopted continually.

LONG TERM CHURCH GOALS

The CBCHC will:

1.   Achieve full membership involvement in corporate and personal worship, and prayer, caring, and service as necessary prerequisites to acceptable total worship.

2.   Achieve Bible literacy among all church members and promote a lifestyle that is under the authority of Scripture.

3.   Achieve full membership involvement in family and various relational ministries.

4.   Facilitate separate language, age, and cultural congregations within one church.

5.   Mobilize all CBCHC and sister church members to reach out to the Chinese population and other residents in Maryland, Virginia, and District of Columbia areas through all available means of evangelism.

6.   Minister to the particular needs of the leaders and co-workers and their families to enhance their continued devotion and faithfulness to the Lord.

7.   Minister to the needs of retiring CBCHC full time Christian workers.

8.   Minister to CBCHC members in the areas of emotional, social, and physical needs through various counseling, support, and caring ministries; and provide relief, when deemed appropriate and resources are available, to special needs as they arise locally and in different parts of the world.

10. Equip and send out adult and youth members on short term missions projects every year.
